Counselling
Highlights
- The university conducts centralized counselling for all courses online
- The admission process is followed by counselling registration, option entry and seat allotment (Steps*).
- No individual call letters are sent to invite candidates for counselling.
- The university shortlists candidates for seat allotment according to ranks scored in CUSAT CAT.
Criteria to be eligible for counselling
- Ranks
- Filled preferences
- The number of available seats in particular courses.
- Seat allotment is done only after document verification and payment of counselling fee
- Spot round of counselling conducted by the university separately only if seats remain vacant after multiple rounds of counselling.
Steps*
1) Registration & Option Entry
Candidates who have qualified can register for counselling using the username and password sent on their emails. The next step is to fill the choice of colleges and courses in order of their preference. Candidates should provide the maximum number of options. Once options are locked and submitted, no changes can be made. If the form is not submitted before the due date, the candidate’s selected options will be auto-confirmed by admission authorities.
2) Seat allotment
After the choices are filled by the candidate, the next step is to take a printout of the allotted seat. Seats are allotted based on the following criteria:
a) Candidates’ ranks
b) Filled preferences
c) Number of seats available in particular courses
Candidates are allotted seats only after document verification and payment of counselling fee is done.
If seats still remain vacant after the subsequent rounds of counselling, a spot round of counselling will be conducted separately by the University.
Before reporting at the allotted college, candidates must download the counselling call letter and carry the same along with other necessary documents.
- Seat acceptance & fee payment
The next step is to confirm the admission by paying the required fee. If the candidate fails to pay the CUSAT CAT admission fee within the allotted time, the seat will automatically get cancelled.
- Reporting to allotted college:
The final step is to report at the counselling venue according to the allotted date and time for document verification. After the documents are verified, candidates have to pay the admission fee to confirm their seats.
