Cochin University of Science and Technology (CUSAT) conducts an all-India common entrance test (CUSAT CAT) for admissions to various undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral courses offered by the university and its affiliated institutes.
CUSAT CAT is a university-level exam held for admission to B.Tech, M.Tech, M.Phil, M.Voc, MCA, M.Sc and other programmes in various streams of Engineering, Sciences, Humanities, Law, Commerce and Computer Applications.
The CUSAT common admission test is a computer-based test (CBT) or an online-only exam.

For admission to B.Tech/BE, students need to keep these in mind:
- Students need to have completed their higher secondary education (10+2) from a recognized board/university with required science subjects of mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology and computer science.
- Students appearing for 10+ 2 or an equivalent examination, in the same year as the entrance test are also eligible to appear for the entrance test.
- For admissions to B.Tech or B.E, students need to have scored 50% in the qualifying exam.
- Those with who do not clear 10+2 or an equivalent examination, are not eligible to apply.
