The Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTU), Kakinada conducts the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture, Medical Common Entrance Test
(AP EAMCET) examinations on behalf of the AP State Council for Higher Education every year. It is a state-level entrance exam that qualifies students for admissions into undergraduate courses of engineering, agriculture and medicine.
Candidates can apply for the following courses – B.Tech, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech (Agriculture & Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science & Technology), B.Sc (AG), B.Sc (Horticulture), B.V.Sc, & A.H., B.F Sc, B.Pharmacy, Pharma.D.
Eligibility
This exam is held for admission into the following courses: Engineering, Bio-technology, B.Tech (Dairy Technology), B.Tech (Agricultural Engineering), B.Tech (Food Science and Technology), B.Sc (Ag), B.Sc. (Horticulture), B.V.Sc and A.H/B.F.Sc, B. Pharmacy, Pharma.D.
Eligibility varies with every field. There are three criteria for an applicant’s eligibility to these courses:
- Nationality
- Age (criteria different for all engineering courses)
- Academic qualification
Following are the courses and their respective criteria:
- Engineering (Pharma.D, B.Tech. (Dairy Technology), B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering)
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).
Age: Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31 of the year of admission. The upper age limit for the General category is 22 years and the age limit for SC/ST is 25 years as on December 31 of the year of admission.
Academic qualification: Passed 10+2 (Maths, Physics & Chemistry as optional)/ Passed vocational courses in Engineering & Technology/qualified the final year of the Diploma exam in Engineering/any other exam equivalent to the diploma exam by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana. Minimum aggregate for General candidates is 45% marks and 40%
marks for SC/ST candidates.
2. Pharm.D
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) Card Holders/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO).
Age: Candidate must complete 17 years on 31st December in the same year of admission. No upper age limit.
Academic qualification: The candidate should have passed 10+2 (Maths, Physics & Chemistry as optional)/passed vocational courses in Engineering & Technology/ qualified the final year of the Diploma exam in Engineering/passed any other exam equivalent to the diploma exam by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh/ Telangana. The minimum aggregate for General candidates is 45% marks and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.
3. Agriculture
Nationality: The candidate must be an Indian/Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) card holder/Persons of Indian Origin (PIO). He/she must qualify local/non-local status requirements set by the Andhra Prades and Telengana educational institutions.
Age: The candidate must complete 17 years on 31st December in the same year of admission. No upper age limit.
Academic qualification: The candidate should have passed 10+2 (Maths, Physics & Chemistry as optional)/passed vocational courses in Engg & Technology/qualified the final year of the Diploma exam in Engineering or any other exam equivalent to the diploma exam by the State Board of Technical Education and Training in Andhra Pradesh or Telangana. The minimum aggregate for General candidates is 45% marks and 40% marks for SC/ST candidates.
